As most of you know, we welcomed a new member to our family on September 28th. His name is Nicolas Dustin Squires. He was born at 3:07 pm and was 6 lb 6 oz and 20 inches long. He was not actually due until October 9th, but due to me having high blood pressure they induced me and I ended up having a c-section. It all went amazingly well and we are all doing great at home!
Yes, we know how Nicolas is normally spelled, but there is a reason for this unique spelling. Nicolas is named after my brother Grant Nicolas. My parents chose this spelling because Grant was born so close to Christmas, for St. Nicolas. We have mainly been calling him Nicolas but we will shorten it to Nic (no k). As for Nicolas' middle name...Dustin was a very special person in our lives, especially Tim's. Dustin was Tim's best friend, he stood next to Tim's brother in our wedding and became one of my dear friends as well. Sadly, we lost Dustin a year ago tomorrow. We have missed him more than words can explain and we wanted our son to have a part of him forever.

Great idea- I love keeping up with people on their blogs (especially when we live so far away)! Perhaps we should start one too. Nicolas is such a cutie!
We are so glad you started a blog. We love seeing the pictures and hearing what is going on in your lives. Nicolas is a doll and we hope to get out to see him soon.
