We have had quite a busy end of the year! We've seen Santa, had 6 Christmases, and watched our little man do more and more amazing things!!! Here's our story in pictures:)
Getting ready to go see Santa at the Great Mall (mommy and daddy thought this was pretty funny:)
All ready to go see Santa with my cute outfit and new shoes!
The first time Nicolas saw Santa! (do not do 2 days before Christmas, it took 45 minutes to get through the line, just for that coveted first Santa picture!)
Nicolas and I got ready to go to Aunt Liz's Christmas Eve morning to make tamales for the Ramirez party that night. Bebe got this cute shirt for him, isn't that the truth!
Mommy and Nicolas when we got back from Christmas Eve church service. Nicolas had a big boy outfit on, a sweater and cords...too cute!We didn't get any pictures at the Ramirez Christmas Eve party (we don't know how that happened)! We arrived around 7:30 (which we almost didn't make it because Nicolas decided to throw a huge fit before we left). Our good friends joined in the festivities and we chatted with them and family and ate the great food, including the tamales we made that morning. It was time to go around 9:00 (just shy of Tim and my dad doing tequila shots with the rest of the family, did I mention it's about 100 people of Mexican decent:) We got home, Nicolas had his last feeding, we packed for the long weekend and then we headed to bed.
Christmas morning wasn't too much fun at our house. We didn't do anything for each other for Christmas and Nicolas didn't know the difference so we just packed up the car and headed to Bebe and Grandpa's. We'll start the real Christmas morning tradition next year. At Bebe and Grandpa's we opened presents (Nicolas was upstairs sleeping, we knew it was going to be a long day). We got lots of great stuff!!! When we were finished there we headed to Aunt Liz and Uncle Jack's house for dad's side of the family's Christmas. It was a blast, but we had to head out early to get on the road to Arkansas City for Tim's side of the family!
Playing with Bebe and Grandpa!I was convinced we would not make it the whole way to AC after what happened going down there for Thanksgiving, but a month older makes a big difference on how far he can go between feedings. We arrived without having to stop (3 hours) and rushed in to feed him. We then opened presents as a family (so fun)! We again, got lots of great things and had an awesome time! Avery was so much fun to watch open presents and want to play with everything she got! Friday morning we took Nicolas for his 3 month pictures (http://www.jodispics.com/ click on proofing, click on Nicolas and the password is squires, enjoy!) He was fussy for some of them, but they turned out great!
Avery with all of her Christmas presents!
Nicolas almost rolling from his back to tummy (fyi, he finally made it to his tummy yesterday, although he couldn't get his arm from underneath himself and rolled back to his back:)
Sitting in his new Bumbo chair like a big boy! He really likes being able to see everything and holds himself up so well!!!!
Avery with her new car!
Avery being silly with Uncle Tim's shoes on!
Great grandmother (Tim's grandmother) with NicolasAvery had her 2nd birthday party Saturday afternoon. It was music themed and so much fun! She blew out her candles, opened more presents (you have to love those birthdays right after Christmas), and played with her friends. We had to say goodbye to the Squires family and head to Stockton (well, now it's Jerico) for my mom's side of the family's Christmas. This was going to be a 3.5 hour drive so I again said that we wouldn't make it and would have to stop and turn the trip into a 5 hour drive...but again, Tim was right and we made it the whole way! Nicolas was definitely a trooper! They saved dinner for us and then did presents. Sunday we had another Christmas with mom's extended family, making it our last Christmas celebration! It was a lot of fun with a lot of people and GREAT food! My Great Grandma taught the family well:)
We definitely had a great Christmas, although hectic and busy! We are so thankful that we have such an amazing family to help us and to be with during the holidays. Tim and I are amazed at what 2008 has brought us. A pretty healthy pregnancy, a beautiful baby boy, and more love for each other than ever before. Tim is an unbelievable dad and I know that Nicolas loves him so much, as do I. We are excited to see what 2009 brings us (except for me going back to work)! We hope everyone had as great of a Christmas as we did!!! See you in 2009!
